Privacy Policy

Airothy is a pair of apps: an iOS app that turns your iPhone or iPad into a trackpad and keyboard, and a macOS companion app that receives that input. This policy explains what data the apps handle, and how little of it ever leaves your devices.

Your input stays on your network

Trackpad gestures, keystrokes, clicks, and scrolls travel straight from your iPhone to your Mac over your local Wi-Fi or LAN, on an encrypted and authenticated connection. There is no relay server and no cloud component. Airothy works even on a network with no internet access at all. We never see, store, or transmit anything you type or tap.

Anonymous usage statistics

The iOS app uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to count anonymous events such as app launches, feature usage, and whether a trial or purchase happened. Events carry general technical context like app version, device model, OS version, and language. TelemetryDeck hashes identifiers before storing anything, so this data cannot be tied back to you as a person. We use it only to understand which features matter and to improve the app.

We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we never sell data. This is also why the app never shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt: there is no tracking to ask about.

The macOS app sends no analytics at all.

Camera

The iOS app asks for camera access only when you scan the pairing QR code shown on your Mac. Scanning happens entirely on your device. No photos or video are captured, stored, or sent anywhere.

Purchases

Airothy Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, payment details, or Apple Account. The apps only learn whether Pro is unlocked.

Data stored on your devices

To make pairing work, the apps keep a small amount of data locally: the cryptographic keys your devices use to recognize each other, the list of Macs you've paired with on the iPhone and iPhones you've approved on the Mac, and your settings. This data stays on your devices and is never uploaded. Deleting the apps deletes it.

Children

Airothy is a general-audience utility and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. Meaningful changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
